About BelmanAI

BelmanAI builds AI evaluation and deployment infrastructure for critical operations. Our software validates whether AI systems perform as specified under real operating conditions, and produces the certified record that auditors, regulators, and operators require.

The role

You own the full engagement lifecycle: from the first discovery call to the signed BelmanAI Deployment Certificate. You translate operational domain knowledge into structured rules and build customer relationships that extend well past the initial engagement.

You run calls with operators and safety leads, write scoped proposals, and present findings to executives. You also read code, evaluate AI system configurations, and identify failure modes that engineers need to address.

Key responsibilities

• Lead technical discovery calls with operators, safety leads, and domain experts at prospective customers.
• Scope and document the engagement: define the problem, data requirements, rule corpus scope, and certificate deliverables.
• Manage customer communication and coordinate engineering resources from close to delivery, driving toward the BelmanAI Deployment Certificate.
• Translate field observations into structured rule corpus inputs and product feedback.
• Build customer relationships that support expansion, referrals, and design partnership.
• Contribute to the go-to-market strategy and target vertical prioritization.

Required qualifications

• 5+ years in a technical customer-facing role: Forward Deployed Engineering, technical consulting, solutions architecture, or equivalent.
• Demonstrated ability to run technical discovery independently and produce scoped, written proposals without a template.
• Deep understanding of AI/ML systems. Ability to evaluate a model deployment, identify failure modes, and explain both to a non-technical operator.
• Structured written communication: proposals, findings briefs, and executive summaries at publication quality.
• Comfortable with travel-heavy work (~50%+ travel, sometimes short notice).

Preferred qualifications

• Experience at a company with an FDE culture (embedded deployment, customer ownership).
• Background in regulated industry AI deployment, process safety, model risk management, or AI governance.
• Domain expertise in manufacturing, energy, life sciences, financial services, or government.
• Technical depth that spans both AI systems and the operational domain (e.g., P.E. license, domain certification, or equivalent credentialing).
